I have a juwel 180 vision, in beech, and have the dark cliff background on the way, along with filter cover and terraces....but what would you have as the bottom substrate? Sand or Gravel...Light coloured or Dark? I'm not botherd by pricing just want it to look the buisness. Any help here is apprechiated greatly. Thanks

Personally I'd go with sand!! Weather you want dark sand or not that's your choice but sand appeals to a wider variety of fish

I have to agree with above comment, sand appeals more to a wide variety of fish. Some people like black sand, I use white sand, I find it easier to clean. Can look too messy sometimes tho.

Well with a light coloured sand, avoided "cheap" options what could I go for that would contrast nice with background, and other than sand is there any other substrate need to be added, to grow plants?

I have used Dennerle Crystal black gravel in my Rio,Looks really nice.
its a small 2mm ish gravel with no sharp edges so is suitable for bottom feeding fish.

I think Im lookig to go a light colour, and was wondering what option I have other than "argos""play sand" but in same colour ref? ta.

Tbh you can go and spend on something different to Argos play sand, but why bother? If you want a nice light coloured sand, its great. Why not just get that and spend more money on fish + plants...
