Well… got my new 75 gallon tank set up and named it “Minneapolis” as it is a twin of my 55 gallon which I called “St. Paul” haha get it?

Anyway, now I must figure out what plants I want cover the slat with. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v180/BTClown/Newtank2.jpg

I like ricca but I hear it does not root to its surface and I hear Java fern and moss do.. which would be best? Can Java Fern survive when packed in all dense like?

Looks cool :) Java moss would look cool in those bit you've shown

Have a read of the pinned thread on Java Moss & Riccia, should answer your question. Java Moss doesn't really stick to the slate, so you will still need to attach it with cotton/hairnet/whatever.

Hope this helps,

Rob.

IMHO, java moss doesn't look very nice, I love riccia. But I prefer java moss because you simply just have to tie it down, and it takes hold within a few weeks and you just need to trim it. With riccia you have to have it down with a hairnet constantly, trim it and replant it.
