Which ones do people use? I've always used tetra aquasafe but got haloex free with practical fishkeeping so thought I'd give it a go with my water changes last night....fish seem fine but found it odd that you need to add 5 ml of aquasafe for every 10 litres which meant I would have added nearly 30 ml of aquasafe but with haloex it was 1.5 ml in total for a 50 litre change, much less treatment and more difficult to measure. it just seemed to be hardly anything!

Also haloex says it treats chloramine which aquasafe doesn't on the label so thought it might just be better.

Wondered if any scientific people out there knew what was best and why?

Seems like an equivalent to Stress Coat. Stress coat dosage is one teaspoonful (5 ml) for every 10 U.S. gallons (40 liters) of tap water.

EDIT: oops double post

So it looks like Haloex is an even more potent formula. That only leaves price in the equation :)

I always use Haloex. I have found that all Waterlife products are very good.

Hi New Boy :)

The active ingredient to remove chlorine and chloramines must be very strong, but frequently the solution contains other things, such as aloe, which are not needed.

I like to use products that can be measured by the drop because there is less of a chance of adding more than is needed. Wardley's Chlor-out and Aquarium Pharmaceuticals' Super Strength Tap Water Conditioner are two products that remove both chlorine and chloramines and are measured that way. They are both very inexpensive compared to the others too.
