Hi,
I have a question regarding the dosing amount of dechlorinator.
The dosage requirements are as follows:

10ml per 60l of aquarium water. Use whenever new water is added to the aquarium.

What i find a little confusing is;
When i do a water change, i have been treating the bucket before adding it to the tank, i've been putting about half a capful (2.5ml) in each bucket.
Is this the right dosage? All my fish seem fine, so i don't think i'm doing anything too wrong, but i'd like to be sure! I certainly don't want to be slowly poisoning my fish with Water Conditioner!!

Your help, as always, is much appreciated!

Jon

yeah i always treat the water before hand and i give it a good 10 mins to do its thing also if you do over dose with the conditioner it will be ok just try to get as close to the right amount as you can

Should be fine :) a bucket is what 12 litres and 2.5ml off thise instructions would treat 15l so spot on. My dosage is different with my tetra aquasafe.

My dosage is 5ml of aqua safe per 10 litres so i dose just over as my buckets are filled to the brim which is about 12Litres. on the ast bucket a may add a little more just to make sure

Check the manufacturers page as well as they may have some more info.
I have switched over to Seachem prime. The dosage is so small compared to other products so it will last ages.
What i have been advised is that if you add the product to the new water then you use that volume for calculating the dosing. If you add the product to the tank directly then you need to use the tank volume to calculate the dose.
Also, i know with prime i can double just in case the tap water has additional chemicals added. But no more than double.
The water does not cloud either with prime compared to another product i used.

Even when i do a small water change i always dose to 1.5x my WHOLE tank volume just to be on safe side.

I just treat the first bucketload then top up that bucket with another as it gets lower.
