Just a question, does putting more than the reccommended amount of dechlorinator in your tank water harm the life?

getting pond dechlorinator works out a lot cheaper as well, i was in a dobbies garden centre today, had a look at the pond dechlorinators and for a bottle the same size as the large stress coat bottle could treat 2000 gallons, think it was 10ml for every 100 gallons lol , the same sized stress coat bottle treats 474 gallons. was about £6 i think for the bottle which im sure is the same price as stress coat..
