Dechlorination Active Chemical?

whats the active chemical in dechlorinator, and would it be cheaper to just does this? if so how much would you have to does each time, per 10L say

Unless you have access to laboratory grade chemicals, I wouldn't even bother.

I suggest against it, sourcing the stuff they put in it would be more of a pain than just buying a bottle that lasts like half a year.

my mums a science teacher, she could order any chemical for labs if i asked and payed her, the sourcing isent a problem

I've been making my own dechlorinator for a few years now.

Sodium thiosulphate is easily obtainable.

Just make up your own stock solution and go from there.

how do i find out how much chlorine's in my water?

I believe there's a test kit for that. I'd test it out on samples of tap water until it turns to 0ppm before applying it to the tank.
