What breeds of fish? There is no hard and fast rule. Let us know what species would be going in and you'll have a maximum answer (based upon the assumption you'll add them slowly over the course of months, giving the tank time to mature.)

If we're talking small fish i.e.4inches max then you could quite comfortably keep around 50 inches worth of fish in the tank stretching upto 70 inches worth if you have very good filtration and maintenance, If your keeping anything larger than 4inches though the inch per gallon rule goes out the window and more specific gallon per fish guidelines come into play.
