Well, well, well. I am lucky today I went to one of the lfs's, aand... they have a large offer on Enter 'kid in candy shop with bulging wallet' scenario. I spent about an hour in there deciding what to get / BTW, if any of you are in the Portsmouth area, the shops called Pet Price and its in Albert Road. Very healthy fish. I got...
3 Swordtails (1male (highfinned) and 2 females, one preggers)
2 khulis and 1 black khuli (black khuli mixed in with the other two, so same price)
2 schwartz (sp) cories, although they miiight be C. Ornatus, I need to check.

And guess how much I paid? I'll tell you in a few posts time

So I currently have (tankwise)

4 khulis
3 swordys

20g
8 danios
2 cories
5 khulis

What else do I have room for? He's getting rid of the tropical fish so needs to get rid of all of them. He has most tetras, swordies, parrots, peacock spiny eels, blue gouramis, dwarf gouramis, gold rams, keyholes, angels, yoyo loaches, khulis, banded loaches, sailfin mollies, a lot of plecs (most of them common), banjo cats, oscars, a few harlequins, giant danios, gold barbs, cherry barbs, tiger barbs, discus and a few more common species I can't remember. So, what can I get, what do you think I should *attempt* to get tanks for, and anything else you care to mention. Don't forget to guess how much the fish were

Quick pic of the swordtails Male is the one right at the back, obviously the one with the mini sword on his tail. The orange female is pregnant, the yellow one, who knows. No gravid spot though. Whoo, hopefully some orange and black babies (all the other males were orange and black).

Undercutting by major stores are putting the LFS's out of business. Support your local LFS if you don't want to see it disappear from beneath your feet.

You got platies too? And when did platies have swords? LoL, I knew you made a typo, just teasing you I think you should get a few pairs of cherry barbs for your 20g.

And...I would pay at my lfs probably around $40, depending on the cories though, the easy to get ones (bronze,albino, etc) are under $5 but other ones are $6 and up usually. So I'll guess you paid around...$15-20? Or if it was a real bargin, $10? (this is in Canadain $ though) Oh, and BTW, I would atleast get 2 more of the cories, as I'm sure you know they like to be in groups (enless you already have more of them)

Dohhhh..... I had platies on the mind ) Thanks for pointing that out Yeah, I know about the cories, they only had two of that species and thought it would be best to find out exactly what they were first and try to get the same species. But I doubt I will so I'll probably go back and get some peppered cories. But pricewise, you are very close. I paid £7.50 for all of them, which not sure in dollars.

No idea. About that though. But the cories are the best deal, the original price for them was £7 each The swordtails were originally £2 each and the khulis about £1.50 each. I'm hoping to get either another 2ft tank or a 3ft tank so I can get some more.
