For last month or so ive been busy with exams(more this week) andhave been busy not paying extreme attention to te fish..
So after hte introduction of a new platy to my 33 gal.. it dissapeared the next day, where i couldnt find it at all....
so a few days late r i found its body white half eaten rotting, netted it out, found the boody of a zebra danio dead, so today jsut coming home , i foud nteh bodies or a dead bala shark and female guppy today stuck to the filter, tested water levels,
Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates 22, will do a water change tmrw,
Closely examined the other fish, the remaining female guppy has clamped fins , and some white growths similar to the new platy had(so did ht other female guppy dead..)
Fin rot seems to be evident in all the fish now.
i currently have no anti fungal meds, i put in a dose of melafix though.
What should i do next?

How about adding some Finrot meds ? Interpet (Dont know what No it is though) do a decent one I have used with some success. ALso could use Jungle Fungus Eliminator. Basically its a bacterial med I think.

Visit your LFS and see what they have in stock.

Keep the tank as clean as possible and as calm as possible.
Lights off, 20% water changes daily (if not more) until you can get a suitable med.

I know you've been experiencing a lot of fish deaths in the last couple of months, between this tank and losing your betta. I think, after you get this current situation under control, you might want to sit down with your Dad, whom you said has been fishkeeping for a long time, and discuss what might be going wrong with your tanks. Make sure he knows your current routine and ask him how he might change it, so that you can have a pleasant experience and maintain a healthy aquarium.

Yep...
When he comes home that is theyve been on vacation the last couple of days...
He chose hte stocking for that tank though however,
Wouldve used maracyn 1/2 mix but im out( i kinda borrowed 1 packet of each of my friends last one after i bought him some water)
and ive no money, so id have ot wait for my dad to come back.
I do weekly 25%'s, while he said hed do monthly 25%'s being more old school, and i tend to feed the fish less once a day..
Coincidentally the bala shark that died was the small of the 2, and we bought htem both at the same size.
Luckily there have been no more fish deaths , and i hope none to come in the future(well in the sense that theyll live maximum happy lives)
However the fish death i think has been caused by the platy, as when i found it hte next day half of it had been eatten, or rotting...
so i believe that has to play a role in the deaths.
