Dead Platys

Found my male Platys dead last night. I have had others die in the past but they have never had white eyes. Is this a normal occurrence for its eyes to go white, almost as if it went blind? I have tested the water Nitrites 0, Ammonia 0 Nitrates 40. All other fish Platys and 1 tetra seem fine.

Hi there! No it's not normal. This cloudy eye thing is caused by bacteria if I'm not wrong.

How long has the tank been set up?
How did you cycle the filter?
How big is the tank (volume and dimensions)?
What else is in the tank?
Have you added anything else to the tank recently (living or otherwise)
How often do you do water changes, and how much do you change?
Have you put any chemicals in the water recently?
