hi all.

i have a gold ram,or had !!!!at tea time he was swimming around happily feeding, the next minute, literally, its on its side dead!!!no signs of anything suspicious. not an old fish. i have had it a few weeks now. everything else in tank is fine.all parameters good, just had water tested at lfs and scored 92% quality on there 'sera' online system,,,,any ideas anybody please

How old is the tank?

Do you know why you didn't score a 100%? I think gold rams can be relatively sensitive fish.

Do you know what you're water perimeters were exactly?

Do you noticed you're dwarf puffers, or the kribs or the other rams harassing any of the other fish? Dwarf puffers can be pretty mean little fish....maybe they were nipping at the ram? :/

hi, thanks for reply.

my water test scored 92%, i was told that was a brilliant score for the water chemistry where we live and that it wouldnt get much better here, might score another 1 or 2 % if water was softened a little more.

everything else in tank is perfect, all seem very happy, i have 8 glass catfish that are very sensative and they all seem ok. i dont think the puffers have anything to do with it, i feed a good diet to them and it seems as though i have '''friendly puffers'' now they have been in tank for about 6 weeks.

the tank itself is now about 8-12 weeks old, but was seeded and had water transfer from old tank, so i had no new tank syndrome, all has been well from the start.

i dont think any bullying has gone on, not that i've noticed. i seem to have a very''tranquill'' enviroment,, a happy tank !!
