I had nbothing else to use other than a breeding trap or breeding net(which i dont like) so i used a 2 litre jar for them. THey were doing fine in there, developing colours etc, taking their baby brine shrimp.
My main tank has been acting weirdly, female guppies dying of fin rot bu theres been no sign of it soit might be an internal parasite? SO one pregnant female was dying, so i moved her to an isolation tank, where i treated her with melafix(now have fin rot treatment). She later that night had about 10 fry and died. So i netted them out and but them in the fry jar.
Now on sunday, i got a 10 gal tank for them. Set up with gravel, heater and sponge filter. I was told that i didnt need to let it cycle with a spnge filter so ni added them in the same day. They were fine at first, but today(tuesday) i looked and all the ones from the ill mother were all dead. I netted most of them out and would do a big water change after school.
Came in today and only one was left. So i did like a 90% water chaneg and he seems alright
I have my own BBS cultivation, where i scuk up the BBS with a turkey baster. Now sometiimes i get a few eggs in there so could they die from eating these? Or was it that the bucket i washed the gravel in (the night i set the tank up) had a sticker about the bucket in it, and when i was stirring hte gravel round, scrapping some of the paper off, coul;d they have consumed that making them ill?
What do you think?
Thanks
