My tank finished cycling this week so i decided to buy 2 new female guppy's. I bought 2 stunning red tail'd ones and after a long journey home (1 hour) they were still alive. I done exactly what i normally do when adding new fish, float the bag for 20 mins, add some tank water, wait another 20 mins, then put in bowl and add fish to tank with net.

Everything was going fine, then now after about 6 hours of having them one is dead. Everything was fine earlier no bullying, all swimming round and eating. There was no parasites or any fungus growing on her, could this be stress?what should i do with the other guppy now?

Thanks in advance

I would just leave her...if the first death was due to stress of transporting then moving her could cause the same thing to happen.

One hour is not an extremely long time to transport fish. These fish are shipped in much worse conditions that you probably had them in, so don't beat yourself up on that. It could be due to stress, possibly caused by a change in water conditions. What I like to do is float the bag for twenty minutes, then mix in half tank water into the bag and let it sit for ten minutes. Then I dump out half the bag water down the drain and refill the bag with another half tank water. I do this a couple more times, effectively diluting the bag water so nothing hitches a ride into the tank in the water from the store. For more expensive fish I end up quarantining them first.

it was probley new aquarism disease the sudden change cause shock and die

thanks for all the help, im guessing it was the change in condition that killed her then, il be more carefull when entering fish next time,
Thanks
