hey,
new to this chat but have a quest.

Have a two month old tank, but my fish keep dying, first I lost 2 corys, replaced them with six more, I left for the weekend and 5 are dead. I also lost 5 rams and one platy.

Tank size: 56 gal.
pH:7.2
ammonia:0
nitrite:0
nitrate:10
kH:
gH:
tank temp:78 f
Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): fish seem normal
Volume and Frequency of water changes:30 to 40% once a week
Chemical Additives or Media in your tank:eek:
Tank inhabitants:5 dwarf Male gorami's, 3 platy's, 1 albino cory, 1 ram.
Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):3 glass cats. I have some brown algae starting to grow in spots like mold on my fake plants and rocks.

Exposure to chemicals:just dechlorine .

What am I doing wrong??

The reason is seemingly you have introduced disease to the tank after buying the new fish as they weren't quarentined... any aggression in the tank signs of disease? etc...

No signs of disease that I see, just the brown spots growing I stated earlier.

Are the fish acting listless after you added in the new fish?
The ones that died.. did you acclimate them before adding them to your tank?

yes, I put the bag in a small container, then add a fourth cup of water every few min.
Original fish, Platy's and Dwarf gorami's seem good, There colors are bright and they all are active. even the rams until they died.

Thanks for the questions!

Sounds like a bacterial problem. What country are you from? This will determine medication availability, as not all meds are available or legal worldwide.

I'm from ND, USA.

Any decent lfs should carry Maracyn & MaracynII. Using these together should take care of most bacterial issues.
