Hi
Got a couple of problems with my tank and would love some advice......
I found my female dwarf gourami dead this morning for no apparent reason. A couple of months ago the male also died (no reason again) so I'm a bit sad, frustrated and perplexed about it all!
She was behaving normally last night and was eating fine. She had no visible signs and wasn't flicking or anything (neither was the male who died last year). I am just wondering if there are likely to be more casualties and yet again what might have caused the unexplained death.
Tank is Rekord 60 with 3 black neons, 1 kuhli loach and 1 hoplo cat. Ammonia and Nitrite 0 and I do 30% water changes weekly and the last one was last night. The powerhead packed up before Christmas and it took a couple of days to order a new one in so I just had the air pump on for a couple of days and I think the stress might have brought on the 1st round of white spot? I treated the tank with 2 courses of white spot treatment (Interpet No.6) before Christmas and I thought it had gone but now I think the hoplo is showing it again. I think I did it right....
ie increased temp to 30 and aerated more... but it just doesn't seem to be going. Any suggestions for alternative treatments??? I have got a hospital tank but I suppose that if the hoplo has it the tetras and kuhli will need treating anyway as well do I may as well leave it where it is? I'd prefer not to move it because it seems to stress it out everytime I even clean the gravel or do the water change.
Anyway, I am really just after advice or suggestions about what I should do now (if anything) for the other fish or do you think it was just a gourami weakness (seem to be lots of threads about them dying!). As I say the water is fine and these are the first casualties I have had in a year.
Thanks
