Dead Corys - Weird

I don't THINK Corys can get it. I did a bit of research on NTD when I got my Green Neons (me being paranoid me was worried they had it) and the general opinion seems to be that it can affect Tetras (except Cardinals), Danios, Rasboras and some Cichilds like Angel Fish. I never saw any mention of Corys.

Maybe a general bacterial med like Waterlife Myxazin might help?

To late for treating now. All of them are dead. I just want to know the cause. My original fish show nothing at all and are their normal cherpy selfs.

I have just dosed the tank with eSHa 2000. Lets see if we can pull this last one round.
Ill treat again tomorrow and the next day then i will do a w/c!

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
How long did you climatise the new fish for.
Is it only the new fish showing signs of white film, flicking and rubbing?

Do the fish show any of these signs also.
Darting, erratic swimming, excess mucas or slime, laboured breathing.
Do the corys sit around not noticing there surrounds.

My tank is 164 Litres

I have 5 Harlequins, 5 neon tetras, 6 Corys = 16 fish

pH: 6.4
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate: 30ppm-40ppm

The fish were acclimatised for about an hour, an hour and a half. I get the temp right then add my tank water a few times then release.

It is only the new fish that are showing the white film apart from one of them. I only have one of the new ones with white film left.

They do not show any of the other sign you have listen and only the ills ones sit around not noticing their surroundings.

All the corys i bought from MA did this, and ive either put it down to NTD/FTND or the fact they use RO water. None of the corys i have bought from other places (which dont use RO water) have died.

Always test bag water in ph and temp. This way you no how long to climatise for.

All I can suggest is isolating the new corys and adding a bacterial med.
If anymore symtoms get back to the board.

Last new city died last night. I don't think I'll be buying fish from the store again. It only ever happens from P@H. Implanted the tank so I'll start stocking properly. Thanks again to everyone that helped!

Bless him.
Sorry for your loss.
R.I.P.

I would like to try and word out what caused this though! I did treat the tank with eSHa 2000.

Stress, ph shock, bacterial.

I would say no to stress, pH shock would have effected the rest of my fish as the pH did drop dramatically but all other fish were fine. Umm i treat for bacterial!

Ok.
Good Luck.
