hello everyone again....i wish i had some good news here to inform your of, but i dont. it seems that at least once a week one of my convict fry die. and these are not new-born fry, they are 4-5 months old, and the readings in the tank are perfect, or about as close to perfect. there are about 8 fry, with the mom and dad in a 20 long, and i cant figure out why they keep dieing on me. so any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

chris

If you can seperate the few fry you have left from the parents. I found that after about the same time period my cons started to attack and kill their fry. :/ and that was in a 40 gallon..1 pair and about 20-30 1" fry.

The parents are killing their young. Its a usual reaction from convicts. They want to breed again but there is no way they can with a bunch of fry hanging around. I am surprised that they let any of them live. My convicts usually breed every 2 to 3 weeks and if there are any fry left from the previous spawning they kill all of them.

well that makes sense, looks like ill have to get that other tank out of the attic now... i dont know where im going to put it at however, but ill make room for it. thanks for the help guys.
