Yeah, my Neons *still* have ich. It's been 16 days since I first noticed it. Coppersafe has been in the water for longer than that, although I've been using about a 3/4 dose, because of the loaches and Corys. I know that Coppersafe works slowly - it can take up to 21 days, but gosh, this is frustrating! It's not a bad infestation, by any means - maybe half of the Neons have one or two ich spots. It's just frustrating, though. And I could have gotten a few new fish tonight.... Didn't want to add new fish now, though :/ Nobody else in the tank has any ich - not the Kuhlis, or Oto, or Corys (which doesn't surprise me).

Just wanted to vent my frustrations. Advice or suggestions are welcome, though :)

On the up-side, I did get an Amazon Sword for my tank, tonight :)

The last time I had ick, I used Ick Clear fizz tabs by Jungle. It was completely gone in less than 4 days.

Ick sucks. I don't even like to look at my fish when they have ick. -_-

Good luck, Lizard.

Hi Lizard,

Just to let you know you're not alone! :/ I found ich in my tank last night  . My molly had about 5 white spots on her tail. I wasn't too happy! Anyway I Turned up the temp about 3 degrees and treated with ichcide which was highly recommended by my LFS. I will let you know how it goes. Good Luck! ;)

Having the same problem too  . One of my cremecicle mollys has it pretty bad. Now one of my tetra is showing a little on her tail. Started treatment last night with Rid-Ich. I hope it clears up quickly, for you too.

Sorry you're having such a hard time. Did you bump up the tempature? Also, gravel vacumming will get rid of the parasite before it finds a host.

Have the spots gone? Perhaps you should try something else?

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Yep, the temperature is up at 80-82* (don't want to go higher, 'cause I think my Kuhlis and Pandas like cooler temps) and I've been doing gravel vacs/water changes. Did a large water change the other day - ~8 gallons - 'cause I have a "lovely" algae bloom in my water. The water has a nice green tint to it - strong enough so that I can't clearly see to the back of the tank :S  I'm going to try doing the lights on for four hours, then off for four, etc. thing and see if that helps.

I saw fewer ich spots on the Neons this morning...so that's good. Oh, the frustrations :p Good luck to y'all with treating the ich!
