hi, i have six zebra danios two corys and a pleco in my 10 gallon,(baby pleco) and i was wondering if zebra danios are compatible with guppies?

I wouldnt do it. First of all, youir pleco needs to be rehomed. It will get over a ft long. Secong of all, your sig says you already have danio's with guppies. I wouldnt do it. Also, wouldnt you know if they go togther. They dont, not unless you have a big tank. Also, the rule of thumb for guppies and all other livebearers is 1 male to 2/3 females as the males will stress the females out and they will die.

You will be overstocked if you add guppies, you are already slightly overstocked as is. I agree, you pleco needs to be re–homed. They get way to big for a 10 gallon.

Danios are nippy and will nip and harass the guppies so I strongly suggest not adding guppies. Danios are fast swimmers and need a lot of swimming space and a 10 gallon does not provide a lot of swimming space.

dont worry, chicklette, i am rehoming the pleco when he gets too large.

the guppys seem to like hanging with the danios, they think there one of them lol.

I have had 2 zebra danios in with guppies and endlers for nearly 2 years and they have been absolutely fine - even with fry in the tank. If anything the guppies and endlers are the more aggressive ones in my experience and more likely to nip and harass. I think sometimes danios get too bad a press.....

Then your one in a million, cuz i cant ever keep guppies and danios togehter. I have issues( only small ones) with keeping 2 danio's and 1 female guppy in a 30g( plus other fish)!!!!!!!! At first introduction, the danio's ate her fins off. I've had danio's eat endler sna dfeeder guppies before. Either your lying( not likley), or your telling the truuth, or you Endlers reproduced so fast that you couldnt tell that one had gone missing.

I had danios one time; they were so aggressive I had to keep them with my cichlids. I would classify them as semi-aggressive. They were harassing all my tropical fish and making them miserable. They did fine in the cichlid tank.

I've had danios and gu[[ies together for about two years and have yet to have a problem. The two species just kinda keep to themselves.

Could it be because they are mostly long finned zebra danios?

 Or maybe your experience isn't the same as everyone elses?? Looks like someone else shares my experience also, so I guess we're 2 in a million now......

The real reason why danio were aggressive toward to the guppies because danio need to be in schooling of six or eight, not two or three...so that's why your danios were aggressive.

However I have six glofish in 20gal with feeder guppies and I had no problems. I used to have one aggressive glofish because I bought one fish, not six of them. She nipped the fins of guppies. So I put five more glofish into that tank and the aggressive one become peace.

But....your tank already overstocked, especially with pleco and guppies. Guppies can quickly overpopulate the tank. And danios love more space means more swimming for the danios.
