I've 4 leopard and 3 zebra danios and today I bought them some freeze dried brine shrimp and bloodworm. I've given them daphnia before, which they seem to like but nowhere near as much as they enjoyed the brine shrimp and bloodworm. Their "regular" fayre is either micro wafers or crunched up flake.
It'd be fair to say they loved the brine shrimp and bloodworm - a real feeding frenzy.

Only after chowing down on their latest delicacy they went loopy.
All 7 were swimming almost vertical, with very small rapid tail movements, towards the filter outstream then riding the flow across the tank (literally letting the filter "blow" them along) - this was interspersed with normal swimming and high-speed-chasing each other around. It lasted for maybe 5 minutes before they all calmed down a bit and went back to their regularly scheduled program of teasing the cat!

Was this just hijinx, caused by the food or something more sinister? They're all swimming around just fine now.
Will they be OK to have more of this food in 3-4 days?

 Sounds like kids when they had those blue smarties years back

They obviously loved the new food and it gave them a bit of a boost, like a sugar rush, Im sure there is nothing to worry about, just give it to them as a once a week treat :good:
