I have a very aggressive danio who seems to have developed a white patch just at the base of his dorsal fin, shaped almost exactly like a scale. As if the scale is missing. The fin and other scales look perfectly fine, and the fish is as robust, greedy and bossy as ever. I noticed this patch almost 2 weeks ago.
It looks a little more raised now, but I still wouldn't say it is any larger then one scale, nor is it ragged. It is now very white. Occassionally I seem him try to flip ans scratch the patch, then he goes back to normal.
Stats are all zero. All other fish are also behaving as would be expected.
I'm thinking this is what it looks like when a danio has a scale torn off, and this is part of the healing process? These are my first danio. The tank itself is nearly 5 months old and appears to be cycled.
