fed some pea today and a danio tried to swallow a bit that was a bit to big now his mouth is stuck open and i can see a bit of pea inside. what should i do its too small to try take it out

Try and catch him with a net sometimes the shock makes them unlodge it.
If not you will have to wrap the fish in a cloth soaked in tank water and remove the pea with sterlised tweezers.

net didnnt work.

that dont sound like an easy thing to do, where would i be able to get a tweezers small enough for the job. any chance it migh eventually get it out itself. will have to wait till tomorrow to get tweezzers as its 1/4 to 1 am

Yes sometimes they can get things out of there mouth them selves, but if it's lodged firmly you have to intervene.
Good luck.

I was in a similar situation a while back with a white cloud mountain minnow, just want to say that if it won't come out after a couple of tries, just put the fish back to avoid more stress. When I tried I just made it worse...

IMO if it doesn't look like it's going to come out too easy, you would be safer to leave it a day before attempting As long as it doesn't appear to be distressing the fish too much. It will either have softened up by the next day, making it easier for the fish to get rid of it, or hardened, making it easier to get a grip of with tweezers.

tried with the tweezers but failed. managed to get a bit out but after several attempts its mouth was still stuck open despite geting the bit out. it wasnt swimming very well and was geting hassled by the other fish so i decided it had been through enough :rip:

thanks for the help folks and just wondering would i be better to stop feeding pea or is it unusual for this to happen

Similair thing happened to a pal of mine, his danio got something stuck in its mouth but a male red tuxedo guppy saved his life by sort of pulling it out his mouth, crazy.
Sorry about your loss

R.I.P.
Mush the peas up between the fingers into small bits.

Sorry for your loss. About the tweezers thing, i went to tescos to get some to put some tweezers to plant some plants in my tank and ended up getting some first aid tweezers which have a sort of fine point at the end rather than a largeish flat end. Not sure if this would help anyone but thought i would just mention
