I got back from uni this evening to find my pair of juvenile danios swimming around together in my grow out tank.
I then noticed one of them was swimming with a bit of a wobble, occasionally onto its side and even upside down.
Literally within an hour, it was upside down only, and just sinking to the bottom of the tank, but being constantly bullied and rammed by the other.
It was the speed of deterioration that astounded me. Anyway, i immediately did a water change, and the parameters are at 0 for ammonia and nitrite, and 20-40 for nitrate, (tap water is 20).
Along with the water change, i shifted the healthy one into another tank, and gave the wobbly one a quick salt bath for one minute in old tank water before returning it to its tank.
This evening it is just floating on the surface (upside down), with the occasional wriggle.
Any chance of saving the little thing? Can't believe how quick it happened. I have Anti internal bac and Melafix at my immediate disposal, along with epsom salts. Any use?
