One of my Zebra Danios seems to have gotten injured. He's missing about 2/3 of his bottom lip, from left to right, with a large flap of meaty lip hanging off of one side. So much is missing he is unable to close his mouth. The other Danios in the tank seem to have noticed and have started picking on him. He looks unable to eat so far, though the injury happened sometime today. Is this something that the fish may recover from, I really don't want him in there if he'll be dying or spreading disease. I don't have a hospital tank to put him in.

If you cant isolate him, watch him closely, as me might starve to death if he cant eat.
Add some melafix to the tank, should help the healing process.
Keep your water clean by water changes, which will help stop secondary infections.
Yes it can heal, as long as he eats and doesnt get pecked too much in the meantime....
Keep checking the area to make sure its not getting white dots on it, or looking very inflamed and red. You might have to put him in a breeding trap for a little while if it gets worse.

Will melafix mess with my biological filter? The tank is stable currently, but not mature, I'd hate to throw it out of balance.

No its harmless, its more herbal than antibiotic. I think its basically aloe vera.
Makes the tank smell nice too
