Hi....I have 2 Balloon mollies in a breeder net at the moment because every time i put then back in the tank every thing goes after them and i dont think they would stop attacking them untill they were dead or had no fins left? :( Its not the ideal soloution, i know, to keep them in the breeder net..(currently occupied with 4 dalmation mollie fry) But i also dont want to see them eaten alive! :hyper:
This all started happening one night when a mollie was giving birth and the tiger barbs went into a feeding frenzy and the male mollie was attacking every thing that went near him? :/
So i guess what Im askin is 'wot shall i do with the 2 mollies?' and 'why are they getting attacked as soon as they go back in the tank with the others?' :dunno:
These fish were the first fish I put in the tank when it was set up...along with 4 other mollies...so why the sudden change? thanks....

i'm not sure there is much you can do about it maybe you could sell your mollies or give them away do a friend or something.
sorry that i'm not much help i just cant see anything else you can do unless the other fish carm down

The tiger barbs are trying to harrass the mollys so they either abort and they can eat the dead fry or just so they give birth faster and eat the fry, this can be very bad though as they can often stress the mother to death.
You don't want more than one fish per breeding net let alone 2 mollys so i suggest you buy another breeding net to put one of the mollys in as it will be very stressful for the 2 mollys being in the same net, especially if one wants to give birth but can't because the other will eat her fry just as much as the tiger barbs.
This will always happen with livebearers and tiger barbs for as long as you have them together, the tigers will harrass practically every livebearer you get when near to giving birth or giving birth and it will be the same story with your other platys and mollys.

Personally i'd rehome the tiger barbs or exchange them for somthing different at your lfs as this will be an on-going problem in your tank as long as you have female livebearers and it isn't very fair for the female livebearers and you could and most likely will end up losing some to the tiger barbs in the future if you continue to have tiger barbs in the same tank with them.
