So my cats chewed holes in my CO2 airline tubing, and my tank went without CO2 for at least 2 days before I figured out what was going on. I now have at least 2 kinds of algae growing, and the leaves of my plants in the back left corner have turned brownish/clear.

I have cut off the CO2 tubing with holes in it, and made it so it will be nearly impossible for them to get to it again. Now what kind of algae do I have and how do I get rid of it?

I've ordered a mini siphon and test kits, they should be here Monday or Tuesday, so I have no idea what the rest of my test parameters are. I've learned its nearly impossible to clean a small tank with a regular sized siphon, and petsmart doesn't have any of the tools I need. So obviously I'm not much help at the moment, but I need help with damage control until my stuff arrives.

Also, my riccia is yellow, is this from the CO2? It never looked as green as I would have liked...

The hairgrass is growing nicely, and my anubia seems to grow a new leaf every 10 days or so... I can't be doing too horribly, right??

Here's the green hair algae...

Here's the brown spotty algae...

Here is my yellow riccia... and yes, the camera actually got the color correct for a change...

And here's what my tank looked like a little less than 2 weeks ago when I had just planted the riccia and started CO2.

omg its dark in there, probably to dark for the riccia , anyhow i would try getting the brown spott algae with an algae scraper, and not the magfloat types that are magnetic, u need the real algae scraper, as for the hair aglea, i heard the chinese algae eaters would take care of that for fllying fox.

Um... its a 10W compact fluorescent on a 5 gallon tank. Are you sure the black rock and background aren't making it dark?

It might not be enough for the riccia... I wouldn't really know...

I also seem to be growing pond snails... don't know where the little buggers came from, but I've gone from 1 to 20 in 2 weeks....

How do I get rid of them too?

your light looks way red/pink.

its what is making ur riccia look so bizaar.

snail prolly came from the plants. they dont really do anything.

you prolly want some more fast growing plants in there. although it is a small tank.

cabomba carolina is flat out. i used some flourish excel to get rid of excess algae.
