i just added two small angelfish ( about 1"-2" high) to my 20 gallon tank with 2 guppies and a neon tetra. The tank has a reasonable plant appearance, and a scenarie log and a plant pot to hide in, and if you need any more....the waters 25'c? its warming up right now to about 26-27.

the moment i put them in the tank, floating in their closed bag to adjust to the temperature, one of them started to go skittish. I didn't do anything but kept an eye on him, and he started to calm down. I added them in after a few minutes, then the both swam the opposite corners ( i dont think on purpose)
and went down to the bottom near the gravel.

When i turned my 30 watt light on the skittish one started barging into the gravel and it looked like he was non-purposly digging.
i turned the light off and after about 10 minutes ( now) there both still in opposite corners.

Now, that should be enough details and if it isn't, you fool, then im a fool.

Is this normal?
What Should I Do?
help soon please

they sound shocked and scared.how long did you leave the bag floating for, just leave the light off and give them afew hours to adjust

the fish sound stresed this can hapen while being caught they then have to be transported to your tank then they are added to water with possibly different ph & others so leave your lights off for couple of hours & keep a check on them also neons are food to angel fish in the wild

Need to no some more facts, what was the ph of the store to your tank, didn't acclimatise them long enough, angel need a 30gal tank, need to no water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, how long has the tank been set up, and do you have any other fish in there, how many.

Angels do have a tendency to spazz when stressed. Leave the light off for a few days if you don't have live plants. Try to keep the room they are in as calm as possible for a while.
