I bought four female bettas for my 10 gallon yesterday. They looked prety small and sad in their little cups. I brought them home and did the acclimation for 25 minutes. When they got in, they had perfect fins. within a minute, their is a war in my tank. I understand some females may be a bit agressive, but all of them?! One of them gave up after a few little bites to the tail. The others kept at it for about an hour on and off. The dominant oine seems to havee been settled in, but she has the worst damge ironicly.

The tank is cycled and has been for about 2 years.

I also threw in a half dose of salt as to my otos, and some melafix. Any other ideas? I do have a cave and a bunch of plastic plants in there.

Some fighting is really to be expected when you dump 4 females together in the same tank... they -are- bettas after all. It's necessary for them to develop a hierarchy. Keep a very close eye on them though, and make sure no serious fights take place.

They seem to have settled in, but the damage is done. What do you guys think I can do for them. One of them(the first to run away)seems kinda lethargic. She only has a samll amount of damage.
