I am such an idiot! I was taking some water out of the tank this evening and a small female balloon molly got sucked up the tube and into the bucket, I just didn't see her coming. She seemed obviously stunned when she got back into the tank but has eaten her tea. I have had a good look at her and her anal fin is now just two spikes at the top and bottom, the rest has been ripped out.

She is now hovering in the bottom corner of the tank. She swam up when I checked her, but slower than usual.

Will the fin grow back? My hospital tank currently has a male molly and two tetras in being treated with eSHa 2000 (only got him last week, typical) so probably not wise to put her in with him, he'd hassle her to death!!

Bless her.
The fins should heal in good water quality.
Yes they will grow back.
Is she struggling to swim as that can exhaust them, and they end up dying.

Thank you! The water is fine, tested it yesterday - all well within params and did a 20% change this evening as I was taking out some water for a new fry tank (hence the rapids ride for molly!). She's not struggling, just slightly slower and less frantic in her swimming! She's in a very peaceful tank so not being bothered. I'll keep an eye on her to make sure she's ok. If I need to I'll stick the fry in a breeding net temporarily and put her in the fry tank for a bit of R&R.

Thanks again for your help, I feel so bad about it.

Ok.
Good luck.
I done it myself once a guppy went up the tube, but he was ok.
