My dalmation molly has a long red strand coming from its stomach. The strand has gone from 1/4inch, to 2 inches in the past hour. The strang looks like a piece of reddish, pink yarn. There is a very thin (like a thread) white strand at the end of the fatter red strand. What is this? Should I remove the fish from the tank as to not infect others?

Is it a worm. Has it burrowed through from her insides.
Does she look thin or bloated.
Is her anus enlarged or red and inflamed.
What does it look like when she goes to the toilet.

It didn't look like a worm... I am new to the game thou, so I could be wrong. The red strand has gone away since my last post, and the fish looks very healthy. I see no bloating or thinness. It looks fine when it goes to the toilet. I really have no clue what it could be. We have also found three baby fish in the tank, but have no idea who the mother is...is it possible they came from the dalmation molly? I do not think she is live-bearing.

Could it of been her waste (poo) stuck to her.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.

Livebeares like guppys, mollies, platys, swordtails, endlers, give birth to live young.
Also the female can carry sperm for several months so don't need a male in the tank.
