Hi All,
I had to move my tank and in order to do so I removed about 80% of the water. I did not have any fish in the tank.
I filled it up with water and bought 2 Dalmation Mollies. Its been 3 days but they pretty much stall still on the bottom of the tank.
Its a 25 gal high tank. I even took out about 30% yesterday.

The readings are
Nitrate 10 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Ammonia .25 ppm

can anyone help.

Temperature? Did you dechlorinate the water? I take it you are doing a fish-in cycle?

I have treated it with API Stress coat and API Stress Zyme.
Not sure about the temperature exactly but it was right in the middle of the green section.

Please look at the thermometer and tell me what it says.

Stress Coat is a dechlorinator.

Did you add ammonia to the fish tank for 4-6 weeks before getting the first fish? Or did you just set the tank up a few days ago and added the new fish right away?

I did not add ammonia. I added about 80% of the water 2 weeks ago. Not sure if it helps but it was already an existing tank with the filter media being a year old.

The Temp is 70 degrees

The middle of the green section on most thermometers is around 75°F, has your temperature dropped? Do you have a heater?

Did you acclimatise the fish properly when you added them?

I think what happened was that your filter somehow un-cycled itself (for example, during moving to this tank). You are now going either through a full cycle or a mini cycle (how have your water readings changed?). The ammonia, combined with the fluctuating temperature (if what I assume is correct), have been stressing out the fish. You should proceed with regular water changes to maintain the ammonia and nitrite below 0.2-0.25. If those readings ever rise above 0.25, you need to increase your water changes. Expect to be doing 25-50% per day.

Also, it would help if you read about fish-in cycling (if you have not done so already).

I will do the water changes thanks.
