Dalmatian Fish?

Hi all - my son just adopted something called a "Dalmatian? fish?" It has white and black spots like the dogs do - can someone tell me what genus this is? I can't seem to find any information about care and feeding, etc.

I think it could possibly be a Dalmation Molly,
the same care for them as other livebearers...but to make them happier and healthier they will need slighty hard water,
Someone else can tell more, i dont have any of these species but i have heard they are a joy to have in your aquarium...
