Hi all - I'm thinking about doing away with the filter and air pump and doing daily water changes - daily water changes won't be too much will it?

Just a small question regarding aquarium salt and your experiences - on the Aquarium Salt package it says that the salt does not desolve or get taken in by filter medium - so whilst treating Archie, with melafix and aquarium salt is it safe to keep adding 2 teaspoons of aquarium salt - (this is not the full recommended amount of salt for a 10G tank - I'd rather play safe than sorry.)

Cheers,
Lee.

Hi! I saw the pics of Archie, and he looks just great compared to a previous photo you'd posted on another thread. I'm curious as to whether or not you're using the Melafix at full strength. My little guy has damaged fins, as well, and I'm wondering how to dose the Melafix.

Thanks!

You should roughly half to dosage of Melafix when treating bettas as at full dosage it can damage them. I tend to go by about 1ml per 10ltr, i think (if memory serves me right) it says on the bottle 5ml to 30ish Ltrs

Yup it says 1 teaspoon (5 mls) per 38L (10 US Gallons) not sure the difference between US and UK Gallons.

The way I have done it is by adding roughtly half a teaspoon of melafix to the tank as the tank is a 7 US Gallons or 28L according to the aquarium calculator - I'm hoping that this isn't going to be too much.

Cheers,
Lee.
