Just had a look at the D&D Co2 things on aquatics-online and i cant find any more info on these systems anywhere. no D&D website or any info anywhere other than aquatics online. How long does the system work for before it needs a refil?

Thanks.

Depends on several things, tank size, diffusion method, how long you run the CO2 each day, some run it 24 hours some only run it with lights on, so it depends, the cannisters are only 500 grams so they are small, you might get a couple of months out of a cylinder if your tank is under, say, 40 gallons.

Check out a CO2 fire extinguisher and get a suitable regulator, much better setup for probably the same price as the D&D unit, you will save on the refills.

To be honist id rather buy a proper system and get all the instructions and support.

I would run the gas when the lights were on and they are on from about 7am to 11pm. the tank is about 50gallons.

I would probably use the diffuser that came with the kit but ive read on here that they arnt that good and id be better with a hagen ladder...

I would email the manufacturer but DandD dont seem to exist anywhere accept on the aquatics online site...

I can understand you're point about the instructions, but pressurised kits really are very easy to put together. If you do get the D and D one and want to get a better diffuser try the glass diffusers from Aquaessentials, you'll need a separate bubble counter but they are very good and have that sleek, modern look about them. Very cool B) and the cheaper ones wont break the bank either :)

EDIT - BTW my 500g cylinder on my 24lt tank running at 1 bubble every 2 seconds lasted 3 months last time, but I think would last longer as I lost quite a bit of CO2 not tightening reg properly the first time!
