i have 2 Blue Dolphin`s (Cyrtocara Moorii) 1 male and 1 female, i have had them seperated though i wanted them to mate so i put them together. 3 days later i noticed the female is getting a cloudy eye and is being run down by the male, what is affecting my fish to get the cloudy eye? and how can i fix her?

Possibilities are stress, injury and/or bad water conditions. c.moorii are harem brooders where there should be 3-6 females for every male, and should be kept in a minimum tank size of 125 gallons.

Please don't take this wrong as I'm not trying to be confrontational. But, just how many species are you keeping now and what tank sizes do you have them in? It seems like every week you post on here about a new species you are breeding and yet you don't seem to know what basic requirements they need. Are you doing any research before you buy them? If you are wanting to be a reputable breeder you need to find a few species to dedicate yourself to and research them as much as possible and only sell the best that breed has to offer. This holds true to fish, dogs, cats, or any other animal.

Unfortunately because they are so easy to breed, the African cichlid hobby is full of sub-par specimens (not that I'm saying yours are), so it is the responsibility of every breeder who is selling them to make sure they have pure strains and only the best specmens if this hobby is to survive.

Again, I'm not trying to come down on you, just looking out for the welfare of your fish and potential buyers. -Dawn
