After my experiment with demasoni (which has not gone well), I am starting to look at options for a different species of fish for my 40 gal. Water is quite hard with a pH of 8ish, so most dwarf ciclids don't seem to be a good match. However, I've been looking at cynotilapia afra cobue. These fish are gorgeous. Would they work in a 40g? Tank measurements are 36x12x18.

If they would not work, what would you suggest? My LFS doesn't have any Ps. saulosi in stock, so that is not an option at this time.

Thanks

The Cobue should be ok ideally a 4ft aquarium would be better but the Cobue do stay relatively small for mbuna so i shouldn't see a problem keeping them in the 40G.

Depends on your filtration really as long as it's up to scratch id recommend 10 to 12 fish :good:

I currently still have 3 of the Demasoni left. Would I be able to add the Cobue while they are still in there? Or do I have to wait until they are gone?
