Ok, bought a new 10 gallon tank, have it half full of water and am not going to be using the new filter (have an old one that has been used), I tested the water and all the ph's and nitrates and stuff turned out safe before I put in the bubble buddies (to take care of chlorine), plan on testing it again tonight. but since when I do put the filter in, it will be the old one that has been used, does the tank have to be cycled, let sit for weeks and do whatever it does? I also put in some stuff that puts good bacteria into the water and helps get rid of the bad bacteria and it says it is safe for animals, plants, and humans and no change of overdosing with it. Thanks, just couldn't figure it out with what I have been finding online.
