Hi i am new to the hobby so please dont yell at me but am doing a cycle with fish.

my question is, should i do water changes if the ammonia or nitrite get to a certain level, to give my fish a better chance or will this disrupt the cycle too much?

any advice appreciated, thanks

Not too sure how much it will affect the cycle but I would do a water change if stats are bad

Your goal is to keep ammonia and nitrite as low as possible by doing water changes. Preferable, keep them under .5 or even .25. You can do 2 a day if need be. Just don't do large ones. Two 20% WCs is better than one 40% as it keeps the other parameters from fluctating too much.
