Technically you could cycle a large tank ( 50g+) with 20 neons but you'd be doing a lot of work & the tank would only be able to support the biomass of those fish at the end of the cycle.
I don't see the point.

I cycled my aquarium with 5 neons, and their still alive and healthy to this day (My tank has been established for around 5-6 months now).

but 20 neons is a different matter, also, how often did you do water changes? How big was your tank?

During the cycle i did no water changes, as i was advised it would go faster this way (got info on this forum), My tank is 15g as you can see below.

Well I don't understand how they lived! The ammonia would of just piled up and killed them if you did no water changes, did you seed your tank with bacteria before?

They seem very happy, active and seem to be in great health. Just because someone does something differently dont assume its wrong.
