I have an established tank and a new tank. I was wondering if i should take out the filter pad thing and put it in my uncyled tank. Would this cause my already cycled tank to start over?

If you only have 1 filter pad in your matured one cut it in half and replace it. Then put the half of the matured filter media in your new tank.

so cut it in half and cut another new one in half at place them in filters?

What type pads does it have? Removing half the media is fine as the bacteria will double in about 24 hours to replenish itself. I wouldn't necessarily cut a new one in half unless that is the only way to do it. However, that would make it easier when the pads become so worn that you do have to change them. You could then change half at a time without having the change the whole thing.

If you filter as some type media such as carbon or ceramic rings, you can also just move about half of those into the new filter.

Alright im a newbie . I have a Whisper Power Filter. I have 2 filter pads in their. Which one shouldi *cut

If you have 2 filter pads, just move one of them to the new tank. Then get 2 more filter pads and put those in... so each tank has one new pad, one old.

Are they pads or filter packs? Most Whisper filters use filter packs that you can put carbon or other media in. If that is the case, just move one pack to he new filter. If they are pads, move the one that is second in line. The first one should have the most bacteria on it so you don't want to move it from the existing tank and cause a big mini cycle.

Cut it in half and put half a new one in, as RDD says. Light years better than all that bottled nonsense (with VERY few exceptions).
