Cycling Tank With A Dead Shrimp Instead Of Ammonia

Can anyone remind me about how to cycle a tank with a dead shrimp or fish instead of with ammonia, please?

I've never heard of anyone doing that. It would seem to be much easier to just use the ammonia and do it that way. Then you wouldnt have to constantly be checking levels and you wouldn't have the possibility of releasing toxins or disease into your water/filtration system
