OK - So i've been cycling my new 20 litre tank for over three weeks now and the cycling is really odd.
I've been recording all my test results and so have put them in a graph for you to see - it doesn't make sense though! The Ammonia has stayed the same while the NitrIte has spiked??? :<

This is the graph.

Are you doing a fishless cycle or with fish. You have not mentioned your nitrates if there is any.

Why don't you just empty the tank then refill it and clone it from your other tank?

Sounds normal enough to me, there should be a little ammonia while there are other levels up because its still cycling, meaning that the ammonia eaters havent gotten to high enough numbers yet to keep down the ammonia that is constantly being made. I would only see it as being wierd if the nitrites and nitrates had already gone down and the ammonia hadnt yet. That would mean that the nitrite and nitrate eaters would have all reproduced enough offspring to take care of the present "food" and the ammonia hadnt. I think its going fine. Does this make sense?

And obviously you cant add fish yet!

But he has a chinese algae eater in their so that plus you adding ammonia to it could be causing it to act wierd.
