Haven't checked it yet tonight though. Could it be the bacteria is already starting to grow? That was a lot quicker than I expected it to be.

EDIT:
Ammonia- 4-6 ppm
Nitrites- 0
Nitrates- 5

This is about 12 hours since I added ammonia. (added it this morning)

I am at work at the moment so cant give a full answer as dont have my stats...mine did grow quickly and my tank cycles in just under 2 weeks...I will post my stats later so you can compare. I had the temp right up and used some 2nd hand filter stuff ( but this had been in the fridge for 2 weeks so not sure if it had helped or not :D )

BUT YES IT CAN GROW QUICK BUT IT TAKES A WHILE FOR IT TO REALLY START TO DEVOUR THE AMMONIA AND THEN OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO KEEP FEEDING IT UNTILL THE NTRITE BACTERIA START MULTIPLYING AND SORTING IT OUT....KEEP TESTING EVERY 24HRS AND KEEP ADDING THE AMMONIA :D :D

I think I test about every 12 hrs. I test in the morning right before I add the ammonia- then right after. Then I test at night when I get home and kind of compare the readings.
