I am planning on doing an 'extreme makeover' on my bettas little tank. I currently have an Azoo HOB filter that is grinding constantly. I plan to buy another HOB filter (any recommendations for a two gallon tank?) and will take the ceramics out of the old filter and put them in the new one...is this neccessary to clone the tank? Or can i just not cycle? When i set up the tank the Azoo filter was supplied with two sponges...i removed these and took the ceramics and sponge from my already mature filter and since then when i have needed to change the sponge i have taken it from the mature filter.
So should i contnue with this method of filter maturing?
Any input would be greatly appreciated! :)

If the betta is the only inhabitant, you should be fine. I have never cycled a betta tank and all my fish seem happy and healthy enough. :)

yep when you get your new filter simply swap the media over and your filter is instantly mature
