on average how long can i expect it to take to cycle a 2.65gal tank using the add and wait method ammonia cycling, a rough estimate would be cool if any one has done it, thanks

I have cycled two 2.5 gallon tanks in about 3 weeks each. it really depends on several factors though and can take 6 weeks at times.

The reason you only need to post one thing once and only once is that the site is on a server with limited space. But there is nothing wrong with it as you are just setting many traps for one raccoon, and you are new to the betta part of the hobby. And if you're wondering, a month is a general rule of thumb for all cycling periods. Plus the system will just delete them in a while anyway.

kaisa, I replied in one of the other subforums. You really shouldn't post the same topic in 3 different suforums.
why not?
Generally, a cycling question would be something for the New to the Hobby section. Posting in only one place will keep the replies together so that everyone can see the replies of others.

i realize that, i made the mistake in posting teh first one in the betta section then realized it probably fit better in the other section so thats what i did, sorry that it disturbed you so much

It didn't disturb me, I was just explaining how thing work best since you are new to the forum. You also posted in the Tropical Chat section and after I replied to the one in te other section and saw the other one, I though the board was messed up and my reply wasn't there. it took a while to figure out that it had been posted more than once.

I have no idea! Most people just change the water every so often. Since Bettas can breath from the surface I don't think it effects them as much. I have filters and heaters in my betta tanks and I change part of the water once in a while. I should test the water to see if it "cycled". Don T.
