Currently doing a fish in cycle (as advised by local shop) I've had the fish in for 3 weeks, started water testing on Aug 2nd my test results have been exactly the same each day for the last 10 days, been doing 10% water changes every day....Ammonia 0.5 Nitrate 10 mg/l Nitrite 0mg/l, has my tank cycled or will i get a nitrite spike soon? Could I add more, currently have 5 Serpae Tetras, Thanks

dont add any more fish until ammonia and nitrite are zero for a good couple of weeks.

read up on the beginners section for tank cycling. the advice given by your local shop, although sound, is quite daft for new fishowners. you need to change more than 10% every day, need to get ammonia down to 0.25ppm and keep it below that all the time.

The fish in cycle link in my sig might help you understand

Don't add anymore fish until the cycle is done.

And don't worry about doing as big a water change as needed to get the levels as low as possible. It will stress the fish less to not have the toxic levels of the bad stuff.
