hey guys i havnt been on the forums much i'v been to busy with work but i just finshed cycling a 10gallon and i want a commuity tank. i was thinking like 7 platys with 1 or 2 angelfish, if they would fit in this tank. its overfilter i have an 20-55 gallon filter on it. il get pics once i find out how to work my new camera. i was just wondering what you guys think

ditch the angel fish idea as the tank is too small. as for platies go either 2 female 1 male or a group of 5 male then your stocked, could maybe get 3 shrimp in there too.
heres a diagram showing how to sex platies incase you don't already know

yeah i didnt think the angels would go in, but i wanted some. haha alright i think im heading to my lfs some time today. with that a 2 female 1 male, will they pair for sure? i want to use the fry for some treats for my convicts.

there will definitely be fry with 1 male and 2 females for sure

which is why theres only 3 and with little decore/plants very few would survive, but an all male group is best if you don't want fry

well which ever you decide, mixed sex or same you'll need more hiding plecs to either give females a break or males a retreate if being bullied

okay, i was thinking i wanted to do some rockwork in it, and maybe change the gravel to sand. are platys picky?

either gravel or sand will be good, platies don't really bother, but think they enjoy eating live plants

okay i just went and cleaned some rocks from around my pond..this is just a bit, i want to make them higher but i would enjoy ur input.

The rocks look nice. Maybe a background as well as a few more plants?

hah alright, il go see if my lfs has come torrmow. they usually have a bad looking plants with algae on them and stuff..


i have a background on there but you cant really see it
