Cycle results after 1 week

Should it be like this after a week??

Post what you've done up to this point ....... have you taken any other readings before these? Did you use media from another tank?

Everything died in this tank, The gravel, filter etc were cleaned, boiled, I used 60ml of myxazin, The filter was left in a bucket of salt water for a week. Basically Ive started from scratch.

What ammonia source are you using ? How much have you added ? I think you need to continue adding your ammonia until you see a spike in nitrites. From your readings, I'm pretty sure you haven't yet.

All that has been put in is tap water with de-chlorinator. Its also got about 40 plants in

You need to add ammonia. Here's a really good post/article about fishless cycling. Read it over and post any more questions. I'd be glad to help all I can.

I forgot to say, I added 1 litre of water from my other tank, I also sqeezed the filter pads in the water too

hi

if u have a friend with a tank, ask them for some of the lovely gunk from the bottom of the filter (full of lovely bacteria) or better still some of their filter media. when i cycled my tank i used a piece of cod to 'feed' my tank , put in lots of plants, gunk from a friend's tank and the tank cycled within two weeks.

I emptied the contents from one of the filters in my other tank last night along with a litre of water from my other tank.
