i am currently cycling and have red rosy minnows in the tank. i plan on getting cories but they cannot withstand the cycling process. can plecos live in that type of water because i need something to get the scraps of food so i dont have to use the gravel cleaner everyday. what is a good fish to get the scraps and will live through cycling

don't add a plec while cycling,
if you have to gravel vac everyday, then you are overfeeding. :/
reduce the amount you are feeding and you shouldn't have to worry about excess food. :D

I agree with this.. My fish would love those scraps of food.!

Only feed them what they will consume within a couple of minutes..ish.

Nooooo! Dont add a plec yet! They hate bad water quality and will die for sure! You need to have a matured tank before adding a plec, say 6 months after its has completely cycled! There is no way you should be gravel vaccing everyday, i starve my fish twice a week, you could get away with feeding them every other day if needs be, that will help keep ammonia levels ect down. DFont worry , the fish will be fine and can actually go for days without being fed! That should cut out you having to gravel vaccing everyday, it also keeps the fish active looking for food! God luck. GRJ :good:
