I'm cycling a 10 gallon aquarium right now to keep some baby keyhole cichlids in until I get my 55 gallon set up in about a month or so... and I'm doing the fishless cycle on it with pure ammonia.

I've heard of people using Bio Spira to assist them in the fishless cycle, and it makes their tanks cycle a LOT faster, like in a matter of days... and that's what I'm going to do because I want to get those fish from the store before they're all sold (they only have five right now).

My question is... does Cycle work the same or not as well as Bio Spira? I'm asking because I can buy Cycle in the pet store but I'd have to order Bio Spira online and pay for overnight shipping and everything on it. Any thoughts? :flowers:

From what I've heard, bio spira is the one that works. Make sure it has been properly refrigerated, as it contains live bacteria. It costs more, but you get what you pay for.

Many shops will hold fish for you if you pay for them before hand. Explain your situation, if they are worth doing business with they will work with you.

Cycle doesn't do anything at all, from my experience.
